A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of junk emails, but this issue can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux web hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific email mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in your account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature right away, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server package that we’re offering will allow you to configure a catch-all email mailbox without any effort even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox that you’ve created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you have already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you don’t want this feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
